After leaving a track we were on a pleasant wooded path
The damp autumnal weather had produced a lot of fungi of various species. Here is a Fly Agaric toadstool
The path took us through Caledonian Pine woodlands
We had a short rest to admire An Lochan Uaine.
This translates from the Gaelic as The Green Loch although it was not looking particularly green when were passed it. There is controversy over the reason for the green colour. Some say it is due to algae in the water while others maintain it is due to fairies washing their socks!
We had a longer break at Ryvoan Bothy before we started the steeper ascent of our hill
