Walking through woodland alongside the River Forth as we approached Cobleland

Winter sunlight filtering through the trees in Crinicart Wood before we passed the remains of Gartartan Castle

Small unnamed loch near Gartartan Castle

As we left the woodland behind we had a view of the Campsies with Dumgoyne picked out by sunlight

Exit (or entrance if walking towards the camera) gateway to the Gartmore Estate in Gartmore Village
Built during the later 18th century, when the Graham family of Gartmore carried out a series of improvements to their house and grounds, and laid out the planned estate village of Gartmore.

Lunch time on the hillside NW of Gartmore with a view across to Gualann

As we returned to Aberfoyle we had a view of Doune Hill while crossing the River Forth
