New Year Meal at the Balloch House Hotel 7th January 2023

We decided not to have a Christmas meal at the end of 2022 but instead opted for a New Year meal after our first walk of 2023.

Accordingly, Bernadette arranged for twenty-five of us to have a meal in the Balloch House Hotel after our walk from Helensburgh to Balloch on 7th January 2023. Eighteen of the twenty people who came on the walk stayed to eat at the hotel and we were joined by three others who hadn’t been able to join the walk. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances Bernadette was unable to join us either for the walk or the meal which was very disappointing after she had done all the work of organising the event. Nevertheless, our thoughts were with Bernadette as we tucked in to our three-course lunch.

The Balloch House Hotel proved to be an excellent venue for our meal and the staff looked after us in an exemplary manner. They were efficient, pleasant and helpful throughout our meal and we couldn’t have received better attention. Between us we sampled most of the main courses on offer and everyone was very satisfied with their meal. Generous portions of well-cooked food were the order of the day and by the time we had eaten the dessert course we were all "fat, full and contented".
