Ascending the muddy path through Kirkhouse Wood at the start of our walk

Leaving the wood, but not the mud, behind and crossing the open moorland

A sheltered spot, out of the wind, for our morning tea break

Some of our group on Dumfoyn with Dumgoyne in the background

Descending Dumfoyn and heading towards to Dumgoyne

Our more intrepid walkers climbed Dumgoyne and are seen here on the summit – the less energetic of us skirted round the side

Nearing the end of the walk we walked through Killearn Glen

The old parish church of Killearn
Built around 1734 and roofless since the opening of a new church in 1826
